FOR BG WORKING WITH DOGS:
As dogs appear to be working on the same day in the same scene, please provide us with a copy of the dog's vaccination records for our veterinary officer to review ahead of filming.
All animals used in filmed media must be vaccinated based on veterinary standards for their species and location. Please forward to us the vaccination records for review.
The use of private party animals for intense action or stunts is not allowed.
Private-party animals may have minimal training and may be unfamiliar with the film environment. Some animals are hired for their looks, not their talent, and may need additional time to acclimate to the activity and dynamics of a film set.
Plan for animal holding areas that meet the needs of the animals used, including shade, shelter, protection from weather, and food/water. Animals from different owners should have separate animal holding areas.
Animals should never be left unattended or unsecured in a manner that could be unsafe or uncomfortable for an animal. Animals should never be left in the care of any person who lacks experience in the care and welfare of the animal.
Ensure owners bring copies of vaccination and licensing documents, in case of possible inspection by authorities and/or requests from American Humane Society’s Certified Animal Safety Representatives™ (CASR). Owners must also bring other items necessary for the animal’s comfort and welfare as mentioned in the attached Advisory.
Production and animal handlers must have a plan in place which will prevent the escape of an animal. Some animals may be unsuitable for use outside in extreme heat, cold, or due to the possibility of escape.
